Well, once I finished the bar exam, etc. I thought I would be able to keep up with this thing. I had even deleted all past posts to start fresh, but I guess I just got too busy. So, here is the Lamm family update since the last post...
Baseball season is nearing a close, but not without much excitement. We are currently in the midst of post-season district tournaments. The tournament actually began this past Thursday, but thanks to the awesome weather we're having, we only got in one game and have yet to play since. Luckily, we blew that Thursday game away in a very decisive victory - 13-1 - against East Hickman High School. But, I guess I should go back to the beginning of the season, since it's been so amazing and such an emotional ride so far...the boys decided on their own to play this season for Kris. Paul didn't tell them or even encourage them to do so, but this was definitely something they wanted to do to honor their friend and teammate. They take the field holding a number 1 in the air. "One" was Kris' number. Paul also paints a "1" behind home plate for every game at home and they guys each touch it before the game. Again, this was done without any prompting. A few even kneel down and pray. The first time they did this was at our first regular season game and it brought tears to everyone's eyes to see the love these guys had for Kris. It still makes me excited to see it two months later. At our first home game, the first pitch was thrown without a shortstop. The guys carry Kris' jersey to every game and hang it prominently in the dugout so Kris is always with them. How amazing to see such dedication!
The Spring Hill Raiders finished the regular season 23-4 and are currently 4th in the state in Class AA and first in their Region and District. This is the best showing the school has had in the program's existence. This guys are really fun to watch. They work well together. They have fun, play hard and their determination has really paid off. I am so excited to see what the post-season has in store for the Raiders.
On a personal note, I turned in my resignation on April 30th from the law firm I am currently with. It was a difficult decision to make, but an opportunity that I couldn't pass up fell into my lap. Once I made the decision, I felt so much relief, so I knew that I was making the right choice for me. I will remain at the firm for the month of May, but on June 1st, I'll be opening the doors in Murfreesboro to my own title company and law office. I do have a partner in the title company and without him (and his constent "encouragement"), I would not have this opportunity. I'm so excited to get started...June 1st can't come soon enough! So, if you are looking to refinance your house, buy a house or getting a commercial loan, we can close it for you and we'll travel across the mid-state!
I think that's it for now...hope the rain subsides today so we can play some baseball. GO RAIDERS!
